Product Information

In principle, you will find all specific product information such as size, diameter, weight, even bracelet length, etc. of a watch on the respective product detail page under “Details”.

What kind of movement does the watch have?

The slow watch uses a battery driven Swiss Quartz movement (Ronda 505.24 Swiss Made) with 45 months battery life.

Can I wear the watch for swimming?

The case is 100 meter water resistant. So you can perfectly wear it for swimming. The Metal and nylon bands are ideal to be taken into the water, but the leather straps will wear out quicker if they get wet. That’s why we recommend getting a metal or nylon strap for your water activities.

Are your watches nickel free?

Yes, all we are using high quality 316 L stainless steel which is nickel free. Having said that: This is the same steel that most quality Swiss watches brands are using. So if you were facing allergic issues here, I would recommend you go for Nylon band option. The band passed through under the case and thus there is no direct contact between the case and your skin.

Which kind of glass do you use?

It depends on the watch family. For JO, MO and O we use an extra hardened K1 mineral glass. It’s very durable, but you should still take good care of it; if it hits the wall or falls on the floor, it can scratch or break.
All slow ROUND, ROUND-S and TWELVE models have super hard, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.

Do the hands and numbers glow in the dark?

The hand does not glow in the dark. We aim to achieve a very classy timeless look and the green of the luminous colour does not really suit this look too well. Also the dial indications are to filigree to be accurately visible in the dark.

Does the black/gold colour come off?

Don’t worry, the colour is very durable. During the PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating process the colour partials actually fuse with the steel on an atomic level. That colour is there to stay!

I have a big wrist. How do I know the watch fits me?

The easiest way to figure that out would be to measure your wrist circumference. The metal band have a standard fit of 135 – 200mm, but we can send you extra links if that is not enough. The Leather straps fit wrists with a 145 – 200 mm circumference. The Nylon and canvas straps cover 135 – 195mm.

How do I shorten the metal band?

To change the metal band it’s best to take the watch to the watch shop around the corner. They can do that within a few minutes and you are sure it’s done with the right equipment.

Why did you place the 12 on top?

When we designed the watch it was important to us to create the most natural way of showing the time. We feel with the current dial we achieved that as the hand follows the movement of the sun. It raises at around 6 a.m. on the left and sets at around 6p.m. on the right. Also we believe it’s more intuitive to have the day time on the top and night time at the bottom.

Do you offer an automatic version?

Yes, we have a super fancy automatic slow watch! You can find it here. We are also working on another version, which will hopefully be ready this year.
By the way: We are also working on a solar watch…

Do you offer a rubber strap option?

For now we focus on metal, leather, canvas and nylon. But we like the idea of a natural rubber strap and could well image to ad it to our collection, but that will certainly take some time.

Are you offering pocket watches?

Even though a poket watch would be super and special we don’t offer on. So far the damand for such a specific piece seems to be rather small. In case we are getting a lot of requests from you guys that might change our mind ?

Do you offer an option in titan, platinum, or other materials?

All our cases are using high quality 316L stainless steel. We are not offering any other material so far.

Can I get a watch with the zero on top?

If that’s not acceptable for you can always wear your slow Jo watch the other way around, which is perfectly fine as there is no logo on the dial the numbers are concentric.

I would like a combination of case and strap that is not displayed on your website. Can I get it?

Yes, customizing your slow is really easy. You can order all the straps separately in our webshop. With the little tool that comes with the strap it’s very easy to exchange them by yourself. Just pick a style with your favorite case, add it to the CART. Than go back to the shop overview and add the strap to the cart as well.

How much warranty does the watch have?

The watches comes with a worldwide 2 year warranty that covers the movement, hand and dial. In case there is any issue with the watch just send us an email and we will handle it for you. More informations here: SHIPPING, RETURN AND WARRANTY

Which case size is right for me?

Basically, you can say that the JO (38 mm), ROUND (40 mm) and TWELVE (40 mm) case sizes fit perfectly on a normal man’s wrist and are also a good choice for women who like to wear a slightly larger watch. For women who prefer a normal sized watch and men with smaller wrists, we recommend the slow MO (34mm). The ROUND-S (34 mm) models are mainly for ladies.

Quality and repair

How do I change the battery?

To change the battery please take the watch to a specialist. We are using a standard battery so every watch shop can exchange it within a few minutes. Please don’t unscrew the case back by yourself as water might leak into the case.

How do I change the strap?

We will sent the strap with a little tool together and it makes it very easy to exchange the strap by yourself (here is a short video explaining how to do this) – http://youtu.be/FuBBBBl33L4

How do I start my watch?

It can happen that the little wheels in the movement can get stuck on the transport and it needs a little kick-start.

It would be great if you could try the following: Pull the crown out all the way until the second click. IMPORTANT: Please set turn the hand strictly CLOCKWISE and turn the hand an entire extra round (24 hours). After setting make sure you press the crown back in very straight and all the way. When the crown is back in the case please turn it back and forth a couple of times while pressing it on the case to ensure all the small wheels of the movement are in place. My watch seems to run slow. What can I do?

Handling a one hand watch can be a bit more tricky than a normal watch. Most of the time when the watch seems to be slow its actually due to the way of the time setting.

That’s why it would be great if you could check if your watch loses more and more time over the day or if it’s just slow once after setting. Usually it should stay constantly at e.g. 10 minutes and it should not be 10 minutes after 1 hour, 15 minutes after 2 hours, 20 minutes after 3 hours,…

Every single watch gets quality checked for several days before it leaves our factory in Switzerland, but of course there can always happen something during the transport. In case you keep having issues with it we will of course ensure that your watch works perfectly and will repair it.

Ordering and delivery

When does my watch arrive?

The invoice email also contains the tracking details of your shipment. With those you can track the delivery status via the website of the shipping company. As you know the details of the location much better than we do, it is usually much more efficient if you get in touch with the shippig company directly. I can’t find my country on this list. To which countries do you ship?

In general we ship world wide. If you are not re-directed directly to your country then go to the upper corner where you see the countries, please select ALL OTHER COUNTRIES and choose your country.

From here you should be able to order and have it sent to your home address. If you don’t find your country in the list please send an email to jo@slow-watches.com and we will handle the order manually for you.

Can I return the watch in case I don’t like it?

Yes, if you are not happy with your slow you can return the unworn watch within 2 weeks. To arrange this please send an email to Jo@slow-watches.com.

How do I order a watch?

Can I return a watch that I bought through Amazon?

Since you ordered the watch with Amazon, unfortunately you have to return the watch back to Amazon as we cannot process your order even though we really would love to help you. The return process with Amazon is really easy and you just need to log into your Amazon account and go to “previous orders”. There you can create the return ticket and sent back the watch to Amazon.

Can you send me a catalogue?

As an only-online brand you can find all our products and information in our webshop at www.slow-watches.com.

Do I have to pay duty when I order a watch from the US?

The price displayed in our web shop it the all-inclusive price. You don’t have to pay anything on top. The watches are stored in our US warehouse and we already paid the duty and the shipping is free as well. If you are ordering from outside the EU or US, the local customs might apply duties based on the specific regulations of your country.

Do I have to pay duty when I order a watch from the EU?

Do you sell in offline shops?

We are focussing on selling online in order to achieve this great price value ratio. So we do not sell in any traditional shops.

There is absolutely no risk in order one in our web shop as shipping both ways is absolutely free and you can return the unworn watch within 2 weeks. So just get one to your house and see how you like it one your wrist.
